UPDATE: Our art program received a $1,200 Community Arts Grant from the City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts office! Thank you City of Carlsbad for supporting our students! We need just $3,300 more to fully fund WEEKLY art for all of our students. Will you help?
No matter how much is raised, all funds will directly support Poinsettia's Art Program! Our students will have as many art classes as we can fund. We are also continuing to apply for outside grants to support our Art Program. Please donate online at
http://poinsettiaartfund.mydagsite.com or write a check to "Poinsettia
PTA Art Fund" and deliver to the front office, or mail to Poinsettia Elementary PTA, 2445 Mica Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92009.
• $3,000 more will completely fund WEEKLY Art for all classes for the rest of the year. ~ If 30 more people donate just $100, we'd be there! ~ Many employers will match
donations made to 501(c)(3) organizations. Check with yours! ~ Would your business like to contribute? ~ Do you know any Patrons of the Arts looking for a worthy cause?
Together, we can save Art at Poinsettia! Your contribution will make a difference.
Background: Poinsettia has had an Art Teacher funded by a generous private parent donation
for the past several years. However, that funding ran out with the
conclusion of the 2012-2013 school year. If Art is important to you or
your student, please donate to keep Art at Poinsettia!
Parents, family, friends, neighbors, businesses ~ Please help us save this important program. The students LOVE art class and Artist in Residence Mrs. Clark. They deserve weekly art class!
Mrs. Clark is applying for grants to help meet these goals. ~ Please send us any grant or funding opportunities that you know about. We would love to apply for them!
All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly toward funding the Art Program at Poinsettia. Please help keep this vital program alive at Poinsettia.
If you prefer to donate in person, please write your check to "Poinsettia PTA" and put "Poinsettia Art Fund" on the message line.
"The arts are a dynamic presence in our daily lives, enabling
us to express our creativity while challenging our intellect. Through
the arts, children have a unique means of expression that captures their
passions and emotions and allows them to explore ideas, subject matter,
and culture in delightfully different ways. Achievement in the arts
cultivates essential skills, such as problem solving, creative thinking,
effective planning, time management, teamwork, effective communication,
and an understanding of technology." - CA Visual Performing Arts Content Standards
Please call or email me with any questions. I'm just a parent who wants our school to be the best school it can be for our students. Thank you for your support!
